Depart from Cairo Westwards towards Siwa oasis along the Northern Coast highway passing through the town of AlAlamein made famous for being the site of one of the fiercest and decisive battles in WW II. Snack lunch en route.
At Marsa Matrouh, we head South towards Siwa. Expected arrival late afternoon.
Set overnight on the outskirts of the town. Dinner at one of the local cafeterias.
Folklore entertainment in the evening.
Day Two
Sightseeing around the ancient town of Shali, meandering through the narrow maze of footpaths and mud brick houses.
Visit the Temple of the Oracle in Aghurmi, where it is believed that Alexander the Great consulted with the Oracle of the Temple of Amun - the Pharaonic God.
Visit Gabal AlMawta – Mountain of the Dead, comprising tombs dating back to the Twenty Sixth Dynasty.
Enjoy a dip at the hot springs in the great sand dunes & lunch.
Return to campsite for dinner Bedouin style and a relaxing evening around the town.
Day Three
Depart from Siwa heading East towards AlBahariya oasis.
Proceed off-road towards AlArag oasis for a brief sightseeing stop and lunch snack.
Return to the Siwa-Bahariya road then proceed off road towards Baharain – the Two Seas – lakes and oasis for overnight camp.
Day Four
Depart towards AlBahariya oasis.
Proceed off-road for a brief visit to Sitra oasis & lakes for sightseeing.
Return to the Siwa-Bahariya road towards AlBahariya. Arrival around lunch time for lunch at one of the local cafeterias.
Enjoy a dip at the warm wells.
Proceed to overnight camp site on the small dunes on the outskirts of AlBahariya.
Day Five
Morning sightseeing in Bahariya. Visit Captain William’s Fort and the Bahariya Museum to see the Golden Mummies.
Snack lunch then proceed South along the Bahariya-Farafra road for 90 Kms then proceed off-road along the Old English Trail towards the overnight camp at Heaven’s Gate on the outskirts of the White Desert.
Day Six
Proceed off-road from overnight camp towards the Eastern White Desert for sightseeing and picnic lunch.
Proceed to Farafra oasis to visit the Local Heritage Museum and Gallery. A quick dip in the hot spring could be arranged according to schedule.
Return to White Desert for overnight camp.
Day Seven
Depart from overnight camp on road South then East towards AlDakhla oasis. Arrive at the town of AlQasr to visit the ancient Islamic village. Lunch at the local cafeteria.
Proceed to Mut – the largest town of the AlDakhla oasis - for overnight at the hotel.
Day Eight
Depart from Mut East along the Dakhla-Kharga road to visit sites at Eastern Dakhla; Teneida, Bashandi & Balat depending on schedule.
Teneida: Rock formations with pre-historic inscriptions and drawings.
Bashandi: small village built in pharaonic style with a grave dating to Ptolomic time.
Balat: Pharaonic tombs and Roman relics.
Snack lunch during the day. Return to hotel in Mut and free evening round the town.
Day Nine
Depart from Mut East along the Dakhla-Kharga towards AlKharga oasis. Proceed off-road 16Kms before AlKharga towards Um AlDabadib ruins nestled within beautiful sand dunes & rock escarpment for overnight camp. Snack lunch en route
Day Ten
Proceed from overnight camp through the dunes towards AlLabakha fortress and ruins. Lunch on the plantation maintained by local farmers enjoying freshly picked vegetables.
Proceed on track then on road towards AlKharga for over night at the hotel.
Day Eleven
Morning visit to the Necropolis of Bagawat; one of the oldest necropoles in Christianity.
Depart to Cairo along the Western Upper Egypt highway. Expected arrival around sundown.
